This year, we have decided to adopt Salesforce’s 1-1-1 initiative. Salesforce initiated its own corporate philanthropy program over 13 years ago and has currently given “over $40 million in grants, 445,000 hours of community service, and provided product donations for over 17,500 nonprofits.”
The model has three major components:
- People
We promote a culture of caring and helping staff give back. NimbleUser gives its team one paid day off a year to work for a charity of their choosing. NimbleUser takes on pro-bono technology work, giving both company resources and time, to improve selected charities technology infrastructure. - Technology
We give products like website hosting and software to needy non-profits. - Resources
NimbleUser provides funds to charities through direct donations.
NimbleUser has decided to adopt that model, with our initial efforts being put forth to improve the non-profit Full Circle Home - specifically, replacing their infrastructure with cloud-based solutions from Google, Wix, and Nimble AMS. Full Circle Home is a local non-profit organization whose mission is to ensure that our deployed Armed Forces members can send their love and thanks back to their heroes – the wives, moms, girlfriends, and other special women back home – on Christmas and Mother’s Day. Full Circle Home has been run by Vickie Durfee and Lisa Miller of Pittsford, NY since 2007.
One of the first things that NimbleUser will be doing is configuring Full Circle Home with Google apps (for cloud office productivity – email, docs, forms, etc). accounts and making enhancements to their web site so that visitors have a better experience. We also plan on streamlining the donation process through Amazon Payments. With a few web site tweaks and this switchover, we hope that Full Circle Home will see an increase in the amount of donations that they receive in 2014.
Not only are we supporting Full Circle Home this year, but we are also continuing to support Bushnell’s Basin Fire Department to help fulfill their mission. We also replaced their legacy on-premise email and intranet site with Google Apps and built them a fully responsive Umbraco public website to help with donations and recruiting.
You’ll be hearing more about our 1-1-1 initiative and our employees’ volunteer days in future blog posts!
