For years, IHRSA had used the same version of their old association management software (AMS). They hesitated to upgrade the system because the small improvements available did not seem to outweigh the difficulty of the upgrade process. They wanted more than just incremental updates. For example, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, IHRSA wanted to provide members with an online forum to share ideas. Using the Nimble AMS online help site, one person on Durkin’s team was able to set up a member community within days. A few weeks later, the forum already had 1,100 users.

Another example: The organization had been regularly generating a critical report that was only available on one computer. One person spent about five hours every couple of days to run the report. Today, the entire IHRSA team can see key insights from the report any time through a dashboard in Nimble AMS.

Challenges
