Today (January 14th, 2016), the Salesforce AppExchange turns 10. Launched in 2006, the Salesforce AppExchange is an online application marketplace for third-party applications that run on the Salesforce Platform / App Cloud.

The Salesforce App Cloud and the Appexchange have helped Nimble AMS to deliver some huge innovations to professional and trade associations including:
- Member Value at Light Speed. Salesforce spent 700+ million dollars on R&D last year and this innovation investment is leveraged by Nimble AMS and all of our customers. Our customers are now able to deliver member value at a pace that was previously impossible.
- Extensibility. Before the AppExchange, an association’s ability to extend / flex the AMS to meet a business need was costly and/or limiting and it typically involved writing code. With Nimble AMS and the AppExchange our customers are adding functionality like email marketing, advocacy, and a host of others (partial list) WITHOUT coding.
- Painless Upgrades. Upgrades have always been a huge and costly pain point for associations. With legacy AMS software associations often waited years between upgrades and then paid thousands of dollars (sometimes tens or hundreds of thousands dollars) to upgrade. Often the upgrade caused issues and disrupted business. With Nimble AMS we have leveraged the Salesforce platform to deliver 3 major upgrades every year at no cost and with no issues. In addition Salesforce itself has 3 major releases per year.
